Valentine's day was originally established to celebrate Catholic Saint Valentine. February 14th is the day of his death. Saint Valentine was persecuted for his faith, which makes him a martyr. The holiday was meant to acknowledge those who have been martyred. People started giving cards that would say "your Valentine" representing that they would die for that person. The romantic part of Valentines day that our culture celebrates now did not exist until the 14th century. Geoffrey Chaucer is known for his poetry and English literature during the Mid-evil times. He started writing romantic poems to women. The card companies took over the whole day in the 18th century.
Personally am not into the whole idea of Valentine's day. I think there is too many expectations and people just get hurt. You should show the person you are with that you love them everyday.
Here is my outfit for today! I absolutely love this pink tank top, my mom got it for me for my birthday. This color is so in right now.
